Design Strategy Case Study

First Impressions Are Financial Assets. Here Is How We Engineer Curb Appeal.

In San Francisco, your home exterior does two jobs: it protects your investment from our brutal microclimates, fog, salt air, and relentless UV, and it signals value to the neighborhood. Too many designers treat exteriors as an afterthought, simply slapping on a coat of grey paint and calling it modern. We reject that. We believe exterior design is about architectural surgery. It involves correcting the awkward proportions of the past while armoring the building for the future.

We approach exterior projects with a climate-first methodology. Whether it is shielding a Potrero Hill deck from 30mph winds or selecting marine-grade hardware for a Sea Cliff home that gets battered by salt spray, our designs are built to survive. We do not just pick colors; we engineer longevity. Working from client-supplied photos and surveys, we transform tired facades into neighborhood landmarks, delivering precise design packages ready for your contractor.

Signature Work

Reimagining your space

Faimora Interiors crafts spaces around who you are, translating your needs and values into smart design with enduring results.

Exterior Design

The Chen-Miller Family’s beige stucco Doelger home vanished into the fog. We designed an Ipe wood slat system with hidden trash storage, specified dark charcoal paint for the upper stucco, and selected rot-resistant materials. The home now stands out as intentional architecture while respecting neighborhood rhythm.

Exterior Design

Eleanor Vance’s 1905 Edwardian had failing cornices and a sagging portico. We coordinated GFRC replacement moldings from digital scans, designed smart-lock iron gates mimicking original scrollwork, and specified a single warm white color throughout. Shadows now provide contrast, creating a stately, unified facade.

Exterior Design

The Pincus family’s deck was unusable due to fierce bay winds. We designed a tempered glass windbreak reducing wind speed by 80%, specified optically-clear Starphire glass railings for unfiltered skyline views, and integrated hidden infrared heaters enabling year-round entertaining despite San Francisco’s cold nights.
